The learning outcome of the project was worked out in detail and the teacher-learners’ assignment was set keeping in mind the expected results.
Questionnaires
A series of questionnaires was used to collect information throughout the study.  This was further supplemented with informal interviews. The           M. A. ELT seniors prepared questionnaires to collect feedback from the students they taught while the M. A. ELT juniors conducted  case studies on the students taught as well as the M. A. ELT teacher-learners.

Tests
To assess the language competence of the M. A. ELT teacher-learners they were given a test before they began to work on the TALL Portfolio and after they completed it. This was further validated by the write-ups they produced as part of the reflective reports. The purpose of the test was to ‘teach through testing’. Their reflective reports were used to point out to them the areas they need to improve. They were helped to identify the problem areas in grammar and coherence, etc. and were helped to improve their language competence. The students taught by the teacher-learners were given a test to find out how far they were able to learn from the experience.

Assessment of TALL Portfolio
The assessment was done qualitatively and quantitatively. A criteria of assessment was prepared for the TALL Portfolio and given to the        teacher-learners in advance. In fact the assessment criteria was worked out in consultation with the teacher-learners. They were asked to work in groups and work out which aspects of their Portfolios should be considered for evaluation and what should be the weighting of each. In the plenary session the ideas of the different groups were put together and with the teacher input the assessment criteria was worked out.
