ESL EFL Writing Examinations

Practice Writing Well in English



Whether you want to appear for the school, college, university or NET, SLET, CSIR examinations or take a test like the GRE, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, etc. it is necessary to be able to write well. This involves a number of subskills like the ability to brainstorm and select ideas related to the reader, purpose and subject of your topic, using appropriate words and expressions, conveying your ideas in an organised manner and preparing a cohesive paragraph or essay.

Click on the link below and practise the exercises to develop the recognition and production skills of written communication. The practice exercises cover sub-skills of writing and you can learn to: Brainstorm and select good ideas, Use language appropriate to the reader and purpose, Identify and use words and expressions to convey the ideas to the reader, Use appropriate prepositions, Use appropriate nouns, Use appropriate adjectives, Organize ideas as per the requirement of the subject, reader and purpose, Link ideas using cohesive devices, Write topic lines for paragraphs and Write concluding statements.

Write Well - Practice Exercises
